Next.js Developer

Location: 100% remote, hybrid
Duration: 3+ months
Type: Full time or part time (20+ hours per week)

About the project

Tourmaline develops a card payment mediation platform consisting of a portal written in Next.js and a WordPress plugin.

What we need is the development of a portal consisting of 3 parts:

  • User registration and login
  • Mediation in card payments
  • User dashboard

We would discuss the portal and the entire project in more detail live.

The role

We are looking for a Junior/Medior/Senior Next.js developer who is native with Next.js, application functionality development, third-party integrations of various APIs, writing neat and tested code, protection as well as the front-end of the application (which at this stage not complex).

The developer, after reviewing the documentation and meetings where all the details are gone through in detail, should estimate the time for each created ticket/task and develop segment by segment based on that estimate.

What are we looking for?

  • +5 years experience with React (ideally).
  • +3 years of experience with Next.js (ideally).
  • Proven experience in developing web applications using Next.js and React, with a strong understanding of their features and best practices. A short presentation of earlier projects, describing one's own role in development, would be a big plus.
  • A good understanding of the working principles of the API, which the portal itself should have.
  • Strong technical background, excellent understanding of OOP concepts and design for both web and front end application development.
  • Proficient understanding of web markup including HTML5, CSS3.
  • Competence in using frontend testing, eg: Jest, React Testing Library, Enzyme.
  • The possibility of high independence in work as well as a good interpretation of the assigned work.
  • Ability to communicate well with technical and non-technical clients.
  • Good organization of your own time.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of the working principles of payment gateways and payment processors.

Responsibilities

  • Application development and implementation using Next.js and related technologies, such as React, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Writing clean, maintainable and well-structured code, adhering to the best practices and industry standards for Next.js development.
  • Optimizing the application for maximum performance, compatibility and responsiveness on different platforms and devices.
  • Performing thorough testing and debugging of Next.js applications to ensure optimal functionality, reliability and security.
  • May assist in the development and maintenance of technical documentation, including project documentation, user guides, and API specifications, in order to effectively present concepts to other technical and non-technical individuals.
